Bio

A youth spent cold and unseen, Phaedra's most joyous childhood moments happened while skulking around the Cathedral of the Twelve. With wide eyes the Keeper spent every evening she could watching the happy, beautiful couples and their guests flit in and out of the cathedral, wishing so desperately to take part.As an adult, Phaedra's carved out a few niches with this wish in mind, acting as the owner/operator of a small La Noscean salon through some of the week, moonlighting as an unusually persistent sort of lovergirl throughout the rest. Despite her relatively quaint life, the lavender Miqo'te spends her days in a a near-constant state of emotional tumult, unable to reconcile the frigidity of her youth with her overflowing heart. She may be effusive, maudlin, gushy, and over-excited in one moment, vacant, even seemingly possessed in the next. Though she tends to channel her mania constructively, Phae struggles to contain her emotions, and at times is prone to bouts of bizarre behavior.She may be a bit of a mess, but one thing about Phaedra is always certain - she wishes to love and be loved more than anything in all the star, and she'll do anything to have and hold what she perceives as love.

Within the confines of your consent, of course! Phaedra is a yandere archetype, but I tailor her intensity to the person I'm writing with and their character. Don't fret if you're the softer sort! I RP with lots of gentler folks, and I don't mind toning down the behavioral issues. Any scenes/plots involving physical/relational/interpersonal violence or violent themes are discussed in advance OOC (with check-ins during). Phae is just a bit twitchy and dramatic otherwise.

An Unusual, Usual Suspect

Phaedra is a huge fan of five finger discounts- to the point where one might wonder whether she steals by choice, or compulsion. Her favorite things to steal are those which are lazily guarded, and fit in her palm. Her little 'work bag' is frequently stuffed with whatever fresh fruit she found at ill-attended market stalls on her way to and from someplace. Merchant characters might meet her stealing from their stalls, confronting parties certainly finding themselves riding the full spectrum of Phaedra's maladaption as she invents 'alternative facts' to explain herself. On the flip side, characters with middling morals might find Phae a delightful accomplice for minor fuckery (vandalism, theft, throwing rocks at cops guards). She does not respect any authority she deems unworthy- which, conveniently, is virtually every authority she is aware of.There are a few more... sketchier reasons Phae dislikes authority, but they're just a little too unsettling for this pretty pink RP profile! ♥

The Maudlin Miqo'te

Phaedra grew up wrapped in a shroud woven of emotional lack. She is sincere in her intention, and well spoken, but often overshoots and/or trips over herself as she tries to express her emotions. She will fuss over and tend to people she hardly knows in uncomfortably familiar ways. She spills & spits her feelings out awkwardly & through scarlet flush... at least when she's present enough to recognize them. Phaedra has a loose understanding of individual autonomy, and does not necessarily understand when it is/isn't appropriate to involve herself in someone's affairs. In some more dire circumstances, when it has conflicted with her own desires, she's even interpreted the self-actualization of others as an act of hostility toward herself.Ultimately, Phae is well-meaning, but maladapted Her behavior is often questionable, always emotionally charged, and generally poorly thought out. The way this manifests depends on my RP companions and their limits. Anything violating will be discussed OOC before we write, and check-ins will be held during.

Candyheart Cuttery & Cosmetics Boutique

Phaedra is the sole-proprietress of a small hair salon & cosmetics boutique in La Noscea. She'll pin a modest amount of her scrappy flyers up whenever traveling through city centers, or tossing them up (rudely) in bar & brothel bathrooms. The ads boast haircuts, styles, dye jobs, a wealth of homemade magicked cosmetics, and 'appointments available!', with her linkpearl information hastily scribbled across the bottom. Phaedra always tries her best to be professional to those who reach out, but almost always falls short. She is quite skilled at producing satisfying results, but is prone to oversharing, overasking, and a bit of operational chaos along the way.Anyone seeking to book her for salon services is sure to leave her shop happy, a little disoriented, and probably-definitely-absolutely-not-ever followed home no matter how interesting they are!
